Think Tank Grant application

For any eligible student think tank, whether or not it is a Chapter. A grant funds one specific educational activity for your student body and is paid into your society's account held with your students' union, under a short grant letter you and the union both sign. Applications are scored against six published criteria, and the additionality test matters most: we fund only what would not otherwise happen.

1. Applicant
2. The activity
Is your think tank a Chapter of the Trust? Required

Chapter status is not needed for a grant. If you are a Chapter, you can hold a grant while your members receive bursaries.

What happens, when, where, who delivers it.

What students will learn or be able to do as a result. This is criterion 1 (furtherance of the Objects).

3. Budget

One per line with an amount: venue, speakers' expenses, trainer fees, printing, platform costs, and so on. Include any contribution from other sources.

4. Statement of existing resources (additionality)

Section 6.2 of the Grant-Making Policy. The trustees must be satisfied that the activity would not take place, or would take place only at a materially reduced scale or quality, without the grant.

If it would still happen, say what the grant would add in scale, reach, quality or educational content. The grant would then be restricted to that increase.
